Support that fits
the way your business works.
DAXS can take responsibility for complete external IT support or complement internal and local teams – in day-to-day operations, as second or third level, for specialist topics and projects.
As individual as your business and the way you work.
Standardised solutions can be an excellent fit. The important question is where a standard helps and where your operation needs something different.
DAXS agrees responsibilities, priorities and services with you. Some organisations outsource ongoing operations completely. Others need support for architecture, complex incidents, documentation or specific projects.
From the daily question to a fundamental technical decision.
Workplaces & users
Support new starters, devices, access, incidents and recurring tasks in a transparent way.
Servers & infrastructure
Consider local systems, networks, virtualisation, owned infrastructure, hybrid and cloud services together.
Security & backup
Prioritise and document protection, backup and recovery as part of ongoing operations.
Software & licences
Keep specialist software, versions, renewals and user or device assignments under control.
Communication
Fit telephony, email and collaboration into the complete environment without making one product an end in itself.
Planning & projects
Assess changes technically and economically, implement them in a controlled way and hand them over cleanly.
Understand. Organise. Support.
Do not replace reflexively. Do not romanticise risk either.
Age, vendor support, spare parts, security, isolation, backups, maintainability, cost and business importance are assessed together. An older ProLiant without a care pack does not necessarily need to be replaced tomorrow. But a critical system with no spare-parts or recovery strategy can still be a real business risk.
Practical answers about IT support and operations.
Can existing servers continue to be used?
Yes, if performance, condition, security, spare parts and recoverability suit the purpose. We assess the specific risk and business importance, not age alone.
Must hardware without vendor support be replaced immediately?
Not automatically. Planned continued use can be reasonable when spare parts, monitoring, backups and a failure plan are available. Missing support matters more for business-critical systems.
When does old hardware become a real risk?
When failures become more likely, spare parts are hard to source, recovery would take too long or one device could stop a large part of the business. These factors are considered together.
Can old software continue to run?
Sometimes, especially when a key process depends on it. We examine the operating system, interfaces, backups, access and possible isolation. Long-term operation without updates needs a documented risk decision.
What if an application only runs on an old system?
Options include isolation, virtualisation, a segregated network, remote access or gradual replacement. First we establish which dependencies actually exist.
Can an old system be isolated from the internet?
Often yes. Segmentation, restricted connections and controlled access can reduce risk significantly. Isolation does not replace backups or a plan for hardware and software failure.
Are snapshots a replacement for backups?
No. Snapshots make short-term rollbacks easier, but they often remain on the same platform and share its failure risk. A resilient backup needs separate copies and tested recovery.
How can a server without a care pack be operated sensibly?
With documented hardware, available spares, monitoring, current backups and a realistic recovery plan. Whether this is economical depends on criticality and acceptable downtime.
When is replacement more economical than continued operation?
When maintenance, failure risk, energy use, scarce parts or blocked software updates exceed the cost and risk of planned replacement. We compare the options transparently.
Do you take over existing IT environments?
Yes. DAXS starts with the existing environment, takes over documentation and identifies what already works well. Not everything has to be replaced or migrated at once.
Do you work with our internal IT team?
Yes. Responsibilities can be divided clearly. DAXS can provide second or third level, projects, documentation or support for specific specialist areas.
Can you replace our current IT provider?
Yes. A clean handover covers access, systems, contracts, licences, open issues and responsibilities. Missing documentation is completed step by step without unnecessary risk to ongoing operations.
How does a migration work?
After assessing the current state and target, we plan dependencies, testing, time windows, fallback and communication. Users receive the information they need in time.
What is documented before a change?
The starting point, affected systems, dependencies, backup or fallback path, responsibilities and known risks. The level of detail follows the significance and complexity of the change.
Can existing licences be retained?
Often yes. We review contract type, assignment, term, transferability and actual use. Missing or duplicate licences are clarified rather than assumed.
What if spare parts are only available second-hand?
Used parts can be a transitional option. Critical systems also need tested parts, clear stock management and a plan for the point at which this option is no longer available.
What type of support fits your business?
We clarify the current environment, responsibilities, risks and the areas where DAXS should provide ongoing or targeted support.
