The story behind DAXS
Real-world projects created a broad technical foundation.
The work began with web, database and software projects. Networks, servers, hosting, cloud services and automation were added as clients needed them in day-to-day operations.
Garage, computers, first projects
Technology became part of the service when it solved a real problem better.
The first workspace was in the garage of the family home. Computers were assembled, software was developed and the first client projects were prepared there.
Preparation in the garage
Preparations for self-employment began in the second half of the year at the improvised workspace in the family home.
Official start
Self-employment officially began with the business registration on 20 February. The first projects included websites, databases and custom software.
Partnership with Inode
The collaboration with the Austrian internet provider began, making connectivity and provider services an early part of technical projects.
The later development through UPC Austria, T-Mobile Austria and Magenta Telekom was a sequence of acquisitions and integrations, not an unchanged partner chain.Own office
The scope of work grew with the projects. Alongside development, IT support, networks and servers became permanent areas of responsibility.
Microsoft partnership
Windows workplaces, servers and business platforms became a more substantial part of ongoing support.
Own hosting and rack infrastructure
DAXS established its own rack infrastructure in Erlachgasse in Vienna, within the provider environment of Inode and UPC Telekabel at the time.
Astaro, later Sophos
Firewalls, VPNs and site-to-site networking became a lasting part of the infrastructure work.
HP and today's HPE environment
Servers, storage and business infrastructure extended the practical experience in procurement, deployment, migration and operations.
Hosting at Interxion Vienna
In 2016, the rack and hosting infrastructure was moved through the infrastructure of the telecommunications partner UPC Austria to Interxion Vienna, where it remained in operation until 2024. Interxion is now part of Digital Realty.
This was not a DAXS-owned data centre or a large dedicated cage: DAXS operated its own rack and hosting infrastructure in a professional data-centre environment.From UPC Austria to Magenta Telekom
T-Mobile Austria acquired UPC Austria in 2018. Since 2019, mobile and cable services have been brought together under the Magenta brand. Magenta Telekom is the current partner in the telecommunications environment.
Software, infrastructure, automation and AI
DAXS connects applications, interfaces and ongoing operations. Owned systems, hybrid models, cloud services and AI tools are used where they make technical and economic sense.

Requirements and technical decisions are discussed directly. If a project needs additional trades, regional presence, specialist knowledge or broader service coverage, DAXS works with suitable external specialist partners.
Responsibility and communication remain clear, even when several specialists contribute to a solution.
